Mont Saint Hilaire

Developed by the multidisciplinary exhibition design team at the Canadian Museum of Nature, Mont St. Hilaire exhibition at the is a new part of the Earth Gallery space, which explores the ecological and geological significance of this Canadian site through stunning displays, interactive elements and in-depth research. Key features include a beautiful display of the minerals found at the sight (one of the most diverse in the world), a rotating display of rare specimens and a universally inclusive interactive display with a physical and digital user interface, which enables visitors, include those with disabilitites, to learn more about this natural wonder of the world. The exhibition merges informative content with innovative interactives to promote understanding of environmental stewardship and geological diversity in Canada.

Main Challenges

  • Ensure compliance with Accessibla Canada Adc (ACA) standards and universal accessibility guidelines.

  • Prioritize clarity and usability in interactive and digital elements for all users.

  • Design intuitive, consistent interfaces with clear navigation and cohesive visuals.

  • Balance educational content with visual appeal to sustain interest.

  • Ensure signage is clear, informative, and easy to follow.

  • Manage installation and setup within limited preparation time.

Responsibilities

  • UI and UX design of the interactive audio/visual elements using Figma.

  • Preparation of 2D and 3D documentation relating to the audio/visual interactives for fabricators and suppliers.

  • Participation in collaborative team workshops and project update meetings with the stakeholders.

  • Supervision of exhibition installation.
