AI, Design and Trust

This ongoing research project investigates how design can foster trust in human-AI collaboration. It examines the shifting roles of designers in the age of Generative AI, and how transparency, authorship, and user perception influence the adoption of AI-assisted tools in creative workflows.

Main Challenges

  • Navigating the evolving discourse on authorship, originality, and accountability in AI-assisted design.

  • Identifying design strategies that make AI systems more interpretable and trustworthy.

  • Engaging diverse creative professionals in conversations around ethical AI integration.

Key Achievements

  • Identified a gap in literature worth exploring, as the intersection between AI, Industrial design and Trust has not been investigated at all at the time.

  • Developed a research framework addressing the intersection of trust, design ethics, and AI.

  • Conducted interviews and case studies across design disciplines to gather practitioner insights.

  • Initiated the groundwork for future writing and speaking engagements on this critical topic.

Responsibilities

  • Researched academic and industry literature on trust and ethics in AI design.

  • Structured the project around real-world design scenarios involving Generative AI tools.

  • Synthesized findings into presentations and internal reports.

  • Engaged with fellow creatives to discuss attitudes toward AI-enabled design.

  • Explored visual and experiential strategies for transparent, human-centered AI integration.
